How do I know whether I need a repair or a new roof?
We look at the extent of the damage, how well the surrounding shingles are holding up and the condition of the roof details. An isolated problem may be repairable. Widespread wear can make replacement the more sensible use of your money.
What affects the price of a roof replacement?
Roof area, steepness, access, the number of valleys and openings, material choice and any damaged decking all affect the quote. We inspect first, then explain what is included and how any additional deck repairs would be handled.
Do you remove the old shingles?
Yes. Our replacement work starts with removing the old roofing so we can inspect the bare deck. Damaged wood needs attention before the new protective layers and shingles go on.
What is different about Class 4 shingles?
Class 4 is an impact-resistance rating based on a laboratory test. It is worth considering in Calgary’s hail climate, but it does not make a roof immune to storm damage. We can compare suitable shingles and their warranty terms with you.
How long will the work take?
We give you a schedule for your roof after looking at its size, complexity and access. Weather and unexpected deck repairs can affect that schedule. We explain any changes rather than promise the same turnaround for every home.
What should I do before the crew arrives?
We will discuss driveway access, vehicles, outdoor furniture and any areas that need extra protection. Roof work is noisy, so plan around pets, children and working from home. Tell us about anything fragile or any access restrictions beforehand.
How do you clean up nails and roofing debris?
We collect the tear-off material and carry out a magnetic nail sweep around the work area. Ground conditions matter: if mud or snow prevents a thorough sweep, we discuss the follow-up needed. Tell us if you find anything after the crew leaves.
What warranty comes with the roof?
